Re: Da Nang"
To all who served on the Jouett DLG-29 between 1968 and 1973 while in Viet Nam. The VA is re-writing the presumptive status of possible agent orange contamination of those Blue Water Navy veterans that have related symptoms. This mainly pertains to those who anchored in harbors (Da Nang) but the territorial waters part is a little vague and none of this is law yet. If anyone has the deck logs from 1968-1973 please share for the exact dates are crucial. I know for a fact that while in Da Nang we fouled anchors and churned up the mud and silt and contaminated the whole ship especially the water intake ports. When we finally got the chains back in you could make mud pies with the residue. I believe the dates for this was between 12/11/1969 and 1/12/1970 but I'm not sure. Thanks.
