i remember we were in da nang to drop off a drone on the pier but dont rememmber who went ashore to leave it there -1973? as we left - bullets or rocket fire hit the area, any one else recall that? i was in the cic-most of the time at sea, off shore i was on the quarter deck when i had duty-or sentry duty -its been so long ago i cant remember jargon or names like i used to. i recall in japan one of our shipmates lost his mind an attacked a contract japanese worker they were working on the deck -mid ships-- the guy tried to choke the japanese guy-- i intervened to stop it=the japanese superviser saw me come to the aid of his worker, they invited me to hang out with them at a n all japanese nite club- many japanes women there too- i wanted a japanese wife to bring home to texas.
