I remember the helo going down on the 84 Westpac. It was from the USS White Plains, if I recall correctly. We were doing a vertrep and it had just left our flight deck when it broke apart. I was on the mess decks handling stores when the flight deck crash alarm went off. Wrote about it in my journal, so I probably have a date on it. You were probably a Shellback on the 84 cruise, and you probably lashed my tail with your shellalegh (sp?) a few times as I was a pollywog on that Westpac. Or were you the one that stuck a raw egg in my skivvies and smashed it with your whip? I still remember sleeping on the deck that night in my "wog uniform" after the first crawl of the entire main deck's length...being an engineer had an advantage in that case in that we didn't get hassled all night long.
