I can't remember what that position was called. I remember a sea gull wondering too close to the end of the barrel during a gun shoot. It was just a puff of feathers when we were done. The BM's used to store a small boat on the fantail that they used for painting over-the-side. You take care and keep in touch!

From one old GMG to another, based on the pictures I've seen you guys did a bang up (haha) job on maintaining Mt 51. By the time I got there in 76 she had been replaced with a single bubble. We did take the "we aim to please" drawing that you guys created and had patches made in the PI. I scanned the one that I had and put it on our web site.
Have you been in touch with Jake? I think he was on at the same time you were.
Did you ever have a chance to shoot the 3"? They were a blast (haha)!!
I took a picture of a 3" firing that I put on the web site. There was a lot of fire out of one of those things.
When we shot directly aft that little boat whould come right off the deck everytime we fired. Eventually they had to "dispose of it" because to too many gun shoots.
