To all the plankowners and crewmembers of Jouett that remember Master Chief Pattison. I received a phone call from Chief Pattison's daughter, Anne, after almost 35 years. During our 30 minute chat I found out that Chief Pattison was 1 of 6 that was in line to become Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON). The selection went to an airdale as it was "their turn". Just to be MCPON select is quite an honor. We should all be proud of what Jouett had to offer. The USS Clyde V.Lasson, CMH winner for his actions aboard Jouett during a rescue in 1968 in Vietnam; USS Gravely, after one of Jouetts commanding officers; and Chief Pattison's selection as a finalist for MCPON. I don't know about you, but I'm damn proud of Jouetts heritage.
