I remember the many long nights at sea, the heat and the noise and the smell, particularly, as a lower level watch and as a messenger making his rounds. I remember the many port visits, the nights playing poker in the compartment, the fights, the drunks, the comraderie, and the pain. I remember it like it was yesterday. I just had to share that. I got out 25 years ago next month. And it seems like yesterday. Boy what a time! I was just wondering do any other snipes on this list that were aboard the USS Jouett during any era (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's) have similar thoughts, good and/or bad. If so, could you share them or e-mail me personally. I would like to document them. Thanks! Trust me! All of my memories aren't good! In hindsight though, I've learned to get the gold out of all my memories, good and bad. I'm sure they were for a reason!
