H.R.'s story was similar to an experience I had early last summer. I was seeing a girl Anne, that I had worked with and we were involved in a bloody fight with another women we work with and her boyfriend. Anne and Debbie, whom worked at the same nursing home with us, didnt like each other and had words at work and had to be separated by co-workers after exchanging blistering slaps. I was at the time excited at the prospect of Anne and Debbie, who I didnt like, having a catfight. I thought that Anne would destroy her. The two women decided to have a fist fight to settle their differences and I offered use of my back yard, that was fairly close to the nuring home. The fight was set for the next day (Friday). Anne was very confident that she would beat Debbie fairly easily and predicted that she wouldnt even show for the fight. Several of our co-workers found out about the fight and showed up (about 8 co-workers). Debbie is around 30 and is about 5' 6" and has curly blonde hair and Anne is 32 and is 5' 4" and has reddish hair. Debbie showed up with her boyfriend Mike, whom I had briefly met in the past. The girls were both wearing shorts and a tee shirt. After swearing at each other, Anne shoved Debbie and the fight was on. Mike and me were cheering on our girlfriends and yelling at each other. The girls exchanged a series of slaps to the face and then Debbie landed two quick punches to Anne's face bloodying her nose. Anne swung and grazed Debbie's cheek. Debbie grabbed Anne's hair and wrestled Anne into a headlock and began pummeling her face and head. I attempted to break it up and Mike charged me and punched me in the ribs and face knocking me to the ground. Debbie punched Anne in the stomach and knocked the wind out of her and then a viscious uppercut knocking her to the ground on top of me. Mike kicked me in the face, head and ribs while I was on the ground. Debbie was also kicking Anne, who I layed on top of to protect her. The fight was broken up at this point. I cant believe that the fight hadnt been broken up earlier, but most of the spectators were women. Anne and I was a mess and one of our co-workers drove us to he ER. We both lost a couple of teeth. We decided not to press charges, mostly out of fear of retaliation. I returned to work briefly and then quit, and Anne never return. Neither Anne or myself ever want to get into another fight again. This is a true story and not meant to "turn on" anyone. The purpose of my writing this about this embarrassing experience is to illustrate how serious injuries can (and did) occur during a physical altercation.
