I posted a story a few months ago about my friend Jane, although I didn’t mention it at the time those events took place a couple of years ago. We’d lost touch but she phoned me sounding upset a few weeks ago so I went to see her, now Jane is 39, still she’s 5’8”, 10st 7lb, but her daughter Amanda is 5’8”, 10st before she was 5’ 0”, 7st 12lb. in my earlier account, but she’s shot up. Amanda and Jane found out Amanda was stronger than her mum when she young, but neither of them made much of it at the time, although I did notice Jane seems slightly more timid around her daughter. And Amanda was much smaller too. Well now Amanda’s the same size. Yesterday she’d wanted to go out with her friends, but they were going to relatives in Scotland so there was no way she could go, and her mum told her this. Amanda said she was leaving the house and there was nothing her mum could do to stop her. Jane rushed to the door and deadlocked it. Amanda got really annoyed and demanded her mum gave her the key. Jane refused and said they were going on holiday and she had to get packed. Amanda wasn’t having that and rushed her mum pushed her up against the front door, breaking one of the small glass panels. Jane was pushing her away and was trying to stop her daughter getting the key that she’d put in the pocket of her denim skirt. Amanda was really mad and out of control, she punched her mum hard in the stomach, this knocked the wind out of her and sent her crashing to the floor curled up. Jane had fallen with the key in the pocket underneath her, Amanda put her hands in the other packet looking for the key. When it wasn’t there she violently pulled her mum’s hair, dragging her from the hall into their living room. Jane was trying to go with her to stop the pain of her hair being pulled. As she was pulled into the living room Jane knew she’d never win using her strength as Amanda had been stronger for years. She rolled over onto her back and as Amanda was running at her she pulled draw her legs back and kicked out as hard as she could into her daughter’s stomach. Amanda flew backwards and landed on the floor in a heap. They’d really hurt each other and just lay there for a while, Amanda was first to recover and went over to her mum and took the key from her pocket. Amanda ran to the door and unlocked it, as she opened it Jane came running out and jumped onto her daughters back, screaming that she wasn’t going out. Amanda just about managed to stay standing and as the neighbours arrive at their front door she threw her herself at the wall back first. Jane took the full force of the blow and with all her daughter’s weight forcing her into the wall she was winded again. She slowly slid down the wall unable to breathe or make a sound. Amanda just wanted to get away so she ran off as her mum again curled up into a ball on the floor. The neighbours came over and helped her into the house. Jane doesn’t know what she should do with her daughter; she’s just out of control. Does anyone have any advice? F.B.
