Having played high school soccer I can tell you of a couple of other things that can go on between teams. When the referee is at the other end other field you can kick your opponents legs or stomp on her feet with your cleats. And of course call names and bad mouth your opponent. As a sign of sportsmanship,ie for the coaches and adults, we would pass each team in a line and touch hand and say good game or something like that. After a heated game some of us would spit on our hands and then go through the line so our own saliva would get on their hands. I was surprised some fight did not get started after some of these tactics. I also realize we settled things on the field! But a high school squad brawl would have been much fun!! Has anyone had other experiences like ours???
