You all seem to have the idea that Newport have done away with a reserve side for it never to return. The decision has been taken that the Wessex Combination is not sufficiently good enough to warrant the expense of continuing with the previous set up. The Island League div 1 would have been the clubs preference this year but as the A team were relegated, div 2 was also not an option. Next season there is going to be a complete league restructuring. Dr Martens, Ryman mixed together to form a new league with a new sponsor. What chance a new combination league - seems highly likely to me. It would be a class above the wessex combination and a worthwhile option. Lets give it 12 months and see what comes out of it rather than thinking the sky's falling in just because we've pulled out of the Wessex.
