Posted by Jeff Well not only have Paul had to endure watching hundreds of Port games (only misses one or two per season), travelling many a mile on cold Tuesday nights wasting a fortune in petrol, having to pay an astronomical amount on the ferries, the poor fella is now getting married! Honestly, this is not a wind up. The lovely Karen is about to make an honest man of him (better shift those dvds then). Rumours that he proposed at the most romantic place he could think of, Rothwell away, are currently unfounded. I would usually now tell a funny story about Paul, but I haven't got any. I have never seen him drunk, on the pull, in a cell and rarely outside a football ground. From that you would think he is a decent citizen (he works for a charity, as a fund raiser afterall). However, even those who glance at this site will know this is quite wrong. How anyone survives on looking forward to so many 300 odd mile round trips, to places like Spalding and Tonbridge are beyond me, all so he can abuse the opposition keeper. It is also worth mentioning that 'Miss Up The Port, 2002' was Mr Rushton's brainchild and had this site not closed, many a beautiful woman would have appeared on these pages. Shame (Luke's idea of 'Port Idol' is still in the early stages of production). Seen as Paul wrote match reports for a couple of seasons in both Up The Port and A Kick Up The Port (R.I.P) I feel it only right, in all seriousness to wish Paul a happy future with Karen. No under the thumb business though mate, the Club needs yer gate money. Oh - and just in case (from my days of editing the aforementioned publications) I know a good solicitor! Good luck mate.
