My great grandmother, Christine Callus nee Puchalski, emigrated to Constantinople in mid-1800's as a child with her family. She was Polish, ? from Kiev and believe fled during persecutions. Father was Theodore Puchalski,worked for French Embassy in Constantinople. Christine married Henri Callus and lived in Galata area. Any info re other Polish immigrants of this period who came to Constantinople or who can substantiate the above would be greatly appreciated.
