I , as my family has , has always belived that brandolani is an italian name . I have since discovered that there are no traces of the root for the suffix "lani" in italian onomatology and there are no traces of my family pre 1900 in Italy . However there are many Persian names which end in "ani". Is there anyone out there who can give me any pointers to finding out more about the roots of my family name . Thanks in anticipation Gino
