Never heard a word like "Tarbous"
But,
Just a presumption.
There is, better to say, there was a Turkish word, called "Darbaz" (pronounce like "dar-buzz"). Origin of this word is Persian, and means "acrobat, rope-walker". This word is not used any more in Turkish language.
As far as I could trace, there are some Darbaz families living in Istanbul, Gaziantep, Sakarya/Adapazari, Denizli, Corum and Sivas.
