Dear R. Nas,
It is very difficult to predict the origin of a person just by knowing the surname.
The surname Nas you can find almost in every town. I made a quick investigation for the concentration of Nas families, and established 4 districts where they are especially concentrated:
1) Siirt, Shirnak, Mardin, Batman area (south-east Turkey, close to Syrian and Iraqi border)
2) Gumushhane, Trabzon area (north-east Turkey, Black Sea coast)
3) Adana, Mersin area (south Turkey, Mediterranean coast)
4) Istanbul (this doesn't mean much, because Istanbul is a very cosmopolit city)
Most probably, the origin of your name is one of the fist 3 regions.
Nas is an Arabic word and means, "Human, People, Humankind". This word has also been used in Turkish language in the last century with the same meaning. The synonym of it in contemporary Turkish is "insan".
If you have other questions in this matter just write me.
wishing you good luck in your investigations

:
: I think that Adana and Ýçel are the most
