
Posted by Ken You really need to keep the motor running at full speed, or near full speed to maintain your required pressure. Monitor the pressure to see what speed will work. If pressure builds too much you may want to install a pressure relief valve. This is usually installed near the pump itself with a line directing the excess water back into the pond, stream, or whatever the water source is. I hope this is helpful!

Unfortunately, what you are doing by reducing the engine speed results in less gallons per minute, as you are trying to do, but it also reduces the pressure, which results in the poor performance of the single sprinkler you are trying to run.
