Re: Traveling to Russia,.... should I take a detector??
Yes, itís legal to take your detector to Russia and hunt there. But you canít dig legally inside city areas and near the places which have an official status of the archeological sites. However, digging in Russia is really exciting Ė because of itís long and dramatic history. Also, during the last years there is considerable increase of hunters everywhere, especially in European part of the Russia. So be prepared not to be a first Hunter here, whatever you go
Of course itís not a big problem Ėas before, there are still huge amount of undiscovered places & ancient items. The only main problem is how to bring the coins back throw the board. Everything which is older than fifty years should be taken only with a permission (which is almost impossible to get).
If you have any questions Ė just email me. Also, if it is a point of interest Ė I have old maps to share, etc..
I also have a question Ė Iíve taken my detector to Canada, but still donít know is it legal to hunt & dig here, and what places should I beware?
