Dianne, I've no experience with that model of Bounty Hunter. However the bounty hunter models aren't toys and will work decently. I'm not sure of what price you are looking at but would also recommend you consider the Garrett Ace 150 or the Tesoro Compadre. Both are excellent starter machines.
I'm not aware of any dealers in Calgary as I'm up near Edmonton. However there is a large detecting club in Calgary, the members may be able to point you in the right direction.
