Thanks Willis, very interesting! This was made near the time that Syracuse first started to stamp production dates. The last patent is one I have not seen on any other Dietz. It is for a bail holder I have never seen used on a lantern.
But that was the way the Syracuse plant marked their production runs, by making random changes to the patent sets. They even resorted to bogus dates, at times, going back to 1909 and again in 1915 and 1916. The New York City plant did not mess with the patents and started production dating in mid-1914, although they made relatively few tubulars. I can only confirm that NYC made Blizzards and Wizards.
