It's night two and so far it's been great. I have set up several lanterns in a few places throughout my apartment so there's no need to carry or move the lanterns around much.
At night they get lit and stay lit with the flame turned down for as long as I'm awake. When I need more light in an area like the kitchen, I just turn the wick up.
Now in the hall, there's no need for a lot of light; just enough to see where one is going. So I hung my Dietz No.100 there. Heres the strange part:
I noticed it was burning with a weird deformed flame and that the flame was a bit to big for what was needed. But I remembered that the wick was ALL the way down. That's right, it was level with the top of the burner and still burning too bright. When I lifted the globe I noticed there was a second flame coming from under the burner, from the air chamber.
I checked the burner and it looked fine. Looked in the air chamber and there was nothing in there that would have burned. I thought maybe a piece of charred wick had fallen in and was burning but no...
Where is this second flame coming from?
Has anyone else seen this?
I'll try to take a pictures soon.
