If your lamp is a table lamp, Aladdin had 2 ways of mounting a shade, "shade ring" and "spider." All the Shade Rings that I have seen are 10", but since the spiders have only 3 "feet," they can probably be bent to fit a 9 1/2" shade. I always measure the lip that sits in what ever holds the shade. Most modern Aladdin and repop shades are pretty close to 9 3/4" to fit the 10" ring, but older shades were all over the place.
