Hey Guys. Hope someone can answer a few questions about a # 2 Blizzard I just got. This is a flat fount Blizzard with a large fill cap that is indented and has no dome or Dietz name on it. It has an inside wick raiser. The smoke dome has the usual 4 tabs but are soldered and not just crimped. The side tubes have only two horizontal reinforcing ribs each. The last patent date is Nov. 19, 07. The globe lift attachment on the side tube is not flat but rather a wire inserted into the side tube and soldered on. The burner cap does not have the wing locks but has two dimples to twist lock the burner and cap. The fount on the front says Dietz on one side of the fill cap and New York U.S.A. on the other. The back of the fount says No 2 Blizzard.
Can someone tell me the approx. date of manufacture of this lantern? It came with a clear globe with H17 LOC-NOB, PATD 3-10-14, Blizzard on one side and one the other side is Dietz in an oval with Fitzall, New York U.S.A. Is this the correct globe? I appreciate any comment or help. By the way it is by far the brightest CB Tall globe lantern I have seen. I have a #2 Berger that is bright but this one beats it by a long shot. Thanks!!! Gary
