As a little experiment, I made "contaminated" batches of kerosene by adding about 10% water to 90% kerosene in a glass container and then added the following in the same quantity as the water to see if it got the water to go into solution with the kero:
Isopropyl alcohol
Methenol
Mineral Spirits
Denatured Alcohol
Basically, not a heck of a lot happened. The first three mixed with the water but then would not mix with the kero. The Denatured alcohol would not even mix with the water so I didn't try adding it to a contaminated kerosene batch.
Some may remove trace amounts, I'm not sure. If things start to build up on the bottom of the font then the above aren't going to help much.
So far, the best water removal method I have come up with is to run the stuff thru my "Mr. Funnel".
