Hi David, I have a couple torches that have the same indention on the top. Many of kids use to pick them up and throw them up in the air and watch them come crashing down on the street and also cars would hit them while they were out in the street from time to time. Some of my torches also have dents on the bottom and on the sides. They weren't like traffic cones were if they got hit they snap back into shape. Can you imagine running one of these metal torches over in the street back then. Some probably were flatten out like a pancake. Nice picture Dave. Steve.
