Sorry, I have no idea why they used the green color on some lanterns, or what the significance might be, but I just acquired my first one, so I thought I'd share.
It's a streamlined Little Wizard, with a date of S-4-51.
At least I imagine it is the green that you're referring to. It's almost a greyish green, with a somewhat metallic look to it. Very nice looking color!
Maybe somebody has a catalog or ad from the early 50's that might make reference to the color choices?
