I have a No 230 & a Large No 2 Fount that were plated and in about the same condition as yours, but all the others I have seen were either painted or unpainted tin. I suspect that some of the painted ones have the plating if the paint were removed. The plating would probably date the lantern to a material change, maybe someone else can inform us. Anyway, 10.00 is a bargain in my part of the world.
