I have 2 of the NYC 39 lanterns and both have the marked globes. The embossing is different on both of them. I have a Dietz Little Wizard marked City Of NY on the globe retainer, and it has a red Little Wizard globe etched CITY NY. I also have a Dietz depression era Little Wizard marked Property Of NYC Sanitation Dept. on the globe retainer and DSNY embossed on a clear Little Wizard globe. The marked globes for the 39's are around. I have seen them on ebay before. If you keep checking you will find them.
