Hi Steve!
Your best bet is to send a picture and ask at the railroadiana site. Since your lantern has a fresnel globe, its a short globe model adlake with the wire frame. Those came out in the 1930's, I believe, and had production dates stamped into the top brim. The dates showed the first thru fourth quarter and the year, so if you see 2-38 it means April-May-June 1938. BB
