Well,Harry...something I didn't know. Looking at Wikipedia it says that Czechoslovakia became the Czech Republic in 1993. My 863 says Made in Chechoslovkia whereas the 864 was made in Czech Republic. I noticed that the 864 says paraffin only. Probably a notice to keep people from blaming the company for causing a kerosene stink in their homes.(or not to use gasoline,etc.) Who knows. I know what you are saying about the globe plate not lifting up far enough. I just push it up farther with my thumb to light it. The "newer Blizzard" I was referring to was the last in the Dietz series of Blizzards. Last date on mine says 1952. I guess I used a bad choice of words.
