Greetings from the Norfolk Heritage Centre in downtown Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.
We are opening a new exhibition called "Shedding Light on Old Norfolk" that traces the evolution of lighting devices, from fat lamps to floor lamps.
The exhibit will feature cruisies and candles, kerosene lamps and gas fixtures, along with Aladdin and early electric examples. An added component will be a festive display for the 50th anniversary of Simcoe's own Christmas festival of lights -- Panorama.
Sponsored by Ontario Power Generation, the exhibit will run from November 27, 2008 until January 10, 2009.
