I just wanted to update some of you with what has been going on with the two sites.
Several years ago GAV asked me shortly before he was to have surgery that if something happened would I make sure to continue his work. Now that he has passed on, I am trying to keep that promise with some of the things I have recently done.
The first thing was to copy and recreate the Traffic Gard site on the website I have. The new location is http://www.camerasandlanterns.com/trafficgard. The original site is still in place at this time http://home.earthlink.net/~trafficgard/m40intro.html.
The second thing was to get into the administration side of the message board to be able to make any changes that might need to be made and mostly to keep the site free of google ads by getting the site paid for for a few more months. Since no one knew the password and boardhost would not respond to either of the two emails I sent them, it took some thinking outside the box. Thank goodness for the "lost password" option. Because of that option and the help of David with forwarding emails (from gav's email account) that were automatically generated from boardhost I was able to get into and make the appropriate changes on the message board.
If anyone comes across any lantern markings that were on the No.40 or No.57 lanterns(that are not on the list already), please email me that info and I will get that added to the list that GAV started. The same goes for the lists that are on my site http://www.camerasandlanterns.com/html/lantern_markings.html.
My hope is for everyone to continue to enjoy
and gain knowledge
from what GAV started.
