I went back to the shop and took a closer look. The shop owner took the liberty of calling it an inspector lantern and had it with the other RR lanterns. I bought it along with a Dietz Pioneer globe that he threw on it. Now I'm looking for the correct globe. This lantern is in great condition - no holes or pitting. I think its just missing the globe. I see no evidence that this one had a reflector in the back. What is the correct paint color for this? I see traces of yellow paint on this one. No markings except for "Dietz No. 60". Last 2 digits of patent years hard to read. Last date is Feb 1 188?.
