Hey!
I was trying to remember if the very early Toledo Torches had exposed wicks without the "hood".
If you look a few posts down to Greg's Toledo Torch ad, he seems to confirm this.
Is it possible that you happened to find one of the earliest versions that was made without a hood for the burner?
