Hello all.
Man, it's been a long time since I posted anything here!
Personal problems have sort of caused me to put the hobbies on the back burner for a while.
Enough about that. Here's my question.
I recently purchased a never fired Embury TG.
The thing that struck me about it, is that the fill cap is a Dietz.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Embury cap a different size than the Dietz and therefore a Dietz cap wouldn't fit an Embury lantern?
It's not like the cap was forced on or anything, it fits fine.
I was wondering if the lantern is, perhaps, from after Dietz took over production of the TG.
Would they have still used the Embury markings on the top of the lantern?
The lantern is in beautiful condition, and appears to be all original. The top of the lantern itself and the globe are marked Embury, but then there's that fill cap.
It's the style with Dietz in an oval, and "Made in United States of America" in small letters around the Dietz logo.
Anyone else ever see one like this?
Does the transitional theory make sense?
Thanks all,
Barry
