Archibald Paull Jr. put those patents (1890 and 1903) on his hot blast lanterns for over 4 decades and most of them have a bakelite plastic fill cap. I have not seen any with aluminum cap. Dating a Regal is more difficult than the Paull's Leader No.0 and small fount No.0 series because there were fewer changes. Generally, if it has a plain bail it is 1920 or earlier. After c1920 they went to socket flanges on both bail connections and rising cone burners. BB
