Universal Metal Spinning & Stamping Co. made deck and dark lanterns (see darklanterns.com) but I have never seen a lantern to go with these tall globes, which are fairly common and always ruby red. The date does not compute as a patent. I suspect there might be some similarities with the Red Flare Signal Corp. globes. Meanwhile, it's still the Perpetual Mystery Globe (quite surprizing, given the 1928 time frame) . BB
