Every spring I do some sort of "crazy" project to bring me out of winter. This year is is a lantern themed project.
I started working on it back in February, while there was still a couple of feet of snow on the ground. Back then, it was mostly researching, designing, and ordering "stuff"
At the moment, I have a dozen boxes of "stuff" in the middle of the kitchen (ya, my wife sort of wants it out).
The two lanterns that will be the centerpieces of this project I am still anxiously awaiting for the arrival of. The first lantern will be a Kirkman #300 Frontier, and the second will be a newly released Kirkman #2 "Champion" with a hooded reflector. I also plan on possibly working an Embury "Luck-E-Lite" and one or two Toledo Torches into the project.
Things are quite haphazard at the moment, but it should start coming together in the next 3 weeks.
I will post pictures and quote sources of materials should one have any interest in duplicating any portion of this "insanity". The pictures should start to take on meaning as the project nears completion.
