Hi David, I have seen the changes over the years also on traffic control devices. Though out the sixties and seventies they had some really neat barricade concepts. The old ones that were paiinted yellow with the top boards that had black and white stripes with the word caution on them. Some had the flashing lights built right into the barricade itself were if someone were to steal it they would have to take the whole barricade. I wish I had some of those old barricades. Like you said everything has changed with the flashing signs and delineators and traffic cones all have reflective sleves on them. Long Beach, Ca. used the lanterns and torches up till 1976 but they were using the barricade lights mostly then. Today they don't even use lights on the barricades because of the reflective taping and liability purpose. Amazing! Take care, Steve Hillyer.
