Hi, I have several lanterns that I burn also. I will fill a few and when they burn out where the wick is dry and has consumed all the fuel I will alow them to sit for a while so the inside of the fuel tank dries out and fill up a few more so they don't have the chance to collect moisture so I don't have the problem of water collecting. I will burn a couple Embury #25 and then a couple Handlan #2000 then move on to a couple Dietz NO.100 or Monarch. Always move my inventory around. It was like when the cities were using them they always had plenty on hand to replace the one that were being used. The lantern man they were called. Their wherehouses were full of lanterns with plenty on hand to cover the road works and enough to cover new projects that came up during the day or over night. Traffic Control!!! Some worked on the weekends to make sure they were burning at all times. The same goes for the Highway Torches. It must have been interesting to be part of history. Steve Hillyer.
