I wondered what you would post next. Always interesting and informative!! My old Embury 500 has been burning since Christmas. No water build up with it, and we have a similar "Mud" season here in the Mtns. of Virginia. As far as a hole in the bottom to drain out moisture... I have been fooling with RR lanterns for over 40 years and all the N&W Adlakes came with a 1/4" hole under the fount. I have seen a lot of Adlakes from other roads that do not and all had rust problems.
