I dug up a couple X wire HY-LOs and the first thing I noticed, after determining that they are not production dated, was the similarity to early Monarch globe wires - and sure enough, it's shown in the 1913 catalog. I also have an old hardware catalog page, purported to be 1911, where it shows-up. This cat. page also shows the 1910 Monarch.
So the story would go: HY-LO started as a square frame circa 1910-1912. Then the X wire 1912 to circa 1915. Then the Y (Ham) wires and added vertical tube reinforcement through 1929. This version I notice has at least 3 different globe wire undulations, perhaps following changes to the LOC-NOB. 1930 brings the H or overlapping basket wires purportedly made thru 1937. BB
