All the tubular lanterns could potentially be fitted with red globes for construction work, with the least expensive being most popular. The Crescent meets that criteria, but was still not very popular and was quickly discontinued, so you have a fairly rare find there, especially in such good condition. I think that one was the first model produced, after 1915 when the "bulb" shape pull ring was acquired from C.T. Ham. BB
