I would also like to know more about the Dietz Steel Clad marked City of New York. They seem to show up fairly often on ebay so I'm thinking there are more then a few out there. Does that bail show up on other lanterns or was it a special order item for NYC? I like the look of that rugged cage. Were these used for general street construction or for some specific purpose? There must be a photo out there somewhere of these in service.
