Deertracker it took me almost 5 yrs to get them to respond. I had sent many emails to them to no avail. That is when i decided I could not wait on them and went ahead and took my first tracking test. That is when I meet a German judge with the VDD-GNA club. He went back and talked to the BGS club for me and told me about the desire to organize and protect the breed. It still took almost a year after that before emails started going back and forth. As you know most of the dogs here are from Poland also. Many great dogs have come from Poland. Lots of wonderful people over there. I hope to be able to go to Tymback this year for the tracking compatition. I will just have to wait to see what type of fire season we are going to have out west this summer/ fall.
Yes we need to work together for the better of the breed. But there will allways be times that people can not agree on the best direction of some things. That is why there is a large group in Germany with BGS that are not apart of the club. They have there own ideas about the breed and do there own thing. This is why there are several BGS groups in Poland. With only one of those I think being recognized by the JGHV as coming from working dog stock.
Also anything new has growing pains. It will take a while to work details and such out as with any organization. I hope Beto will be apart of it. But if not he has his ideas of what direction he wants to take the BGS and I have mine. If we can not work it out then ther will just be two different groups over here for the Breed. There are already some here doing as they want to try to make as much money as they can before we get organized and educate people aboout the breed. I do not think the BGS will be going away any time soon. There are to many people that have seen them work and want good quality tracking dogs. To many hunting preserves have imported them one or have hired someone to bring there BGS in to track for one of their clients. The breed has proven it self as one of the top tracking breeds out there so it is here to stay. We just have to find a way to work together to protect the breed the way it is now. We all love the breed we just each have our own ideas about what to do.
