Beto there are others that love the breed also. But not many are trying to do much for the breed in whole. Currently there are only 2 dogs that have had their hips tested with OFI out of all the dogs in this country, can you tell me why. I can most people love this breed and work it but have no plans for the dog beyond that. That makes it hard to get people to participate in testing for genetics or abilities. The club will be national with I hope int he future a web site for info for the public and a members section but that all takes money. As with any start up breed specific club it will be slow going at first. Right now to save money so we do not have to get incoporated and all that we will probably just pay the dues to the German club as we build more intrest and gain more people. Once we get 6-10 people who really show the intrest the German club will send a couple of reps. over to train us.
Test where we can get enough participants. Even the VDD-GNA have a hard time getting a full roster of dogs to test and they have a hudge club. Right now any dog with the correct stamps on the pedigree can go to any JGHV sanctioned test and participate now. It will prbably take us a few years to get our own judges qualified.
