My experience has been that some time there is very little blood and some times there is no blood at all....you have to train your dog to tracka a deer scent that left by the deer foot the foot as we all know has a gland that leaves a DNA type of scent....the blood helps a dog tie the right deer to the right track and follow it to the deer and not get off track with another deer.....blood is important but not that important. My dogs don`t need blood to find a deer...all they need is to go where the deer was standing....I train them to track a deer in conjuction with starting on on blood if its there to sort out which deer that I want them to fine..but blood is not nessasary..
