try with dog food first . put 1 peice 1 foot apart in a straight line for 20 feet . then put a handful at the end . if you have to get on the ground and act like a dog and show him how . tell him good boy all the way . do this every 3 days for 2 weeks then get some blood and put a fist size spot on the ground . hold the leash and put back on it alittle and tell him to search . make him dig at the spot and tell him good boy . hopefully he will catch on if .when he starts liking blood then get the blood and put 2-5 drops every 5 feet make it 30 feet long in a straight line.put a leg or peice of hide at the end as the animal . tell him good boy when he gets to it and picks it up . do this for a week or 2 then make it longer . now is when you may want to buy some track shoes to bolt deer hoofs on the back and make a blood trail . this is when you want to make some 45 degree angles and 1 or 2 90 degree angles . you have to make it look like a deer trail not a road . deer don't take alot of 90 degree turns . 90 degree turns will be the hardest . but always make if fun and don't do to much because he will get bored .
