if the dog is trained right he should be able to stay on the trail until you catch up to it . it is the handler that might not read the dog right . you can train a dog in 6 months but it will take a person 2 years or more to learn to read the dog . a good dog should not have a bad day . they should be able to do miles of tracking not just yards .do more training and use less blood . you should only need 1-2 ounces of blood to run a mile track . some people use alot but there is no reason to use very much blood . this makes the dog use his nose to solve the problem .the less blood you use the better .have fun and learn to read the dog more and you will have a better time .
