I adopted a young bloodhound in August. He arrived with food/possession aggression issues which I am unable to resolve. He is a great dog, but is way to aggressive about food/snacks/etc for me to trust in an apartment with me and my girlfriend. He has had to episodes of biting: once with my girlfriend when she tried to take something from him and once with me.
I believe a knowledgeable dog handler could deal with the aggression and take a dominant role with him, and he would be a great dog. What I want to avoid is taking him back to the foster home, where they are likely to have him euthanized because people are unwilling to readopt a dog with aggression. He's not perfect, and not for everyone, but doesn't deserve to be put down!
