Glad to hear it....the versatility of these dogs have always intrigued me but I wasn't sure if this versatility could truly be realized by 1 individual.
Two more questions
:
1: What size teckel would you suggest? I would imagine it would be better to have a standard for bloodtracking and rabbit hunting, but I would assume that the ground work would trump the size issue? The information that I have read regarding size is a maximum of a 14" chest ("American Working Terriers" by Pat Burns - www.terrierman.com). Would a female standard from working lines meet this criteria? ...or should I only be looking at a mini?
2: What order of training would you suggest? I also have "Tracking Dogs for Finding Wounded Deer" by John Jeanneney and he suggests to start fairly young. Again to cite Pat Burns' book, he suggests not rushing the ground. So, where does the intro and line work for rabbits fit in??
Any help would be appreciated!
